Incorporating children into a wedding where two families are becoming one is a unique honor that is always fun. I recently had the privilege of officiating a wedding at Old Poway Park with 5 children. The location was a perfect family venue: trains, antiques, nature, white wood bridges and benches, and a ceremony under a classic gazebo. It spoke to family and the bonds of love between not just a loving couple but their children as well. The sand ceremony had to be my favorite part. The ceremony itself, in which you each pour your separate jars of sand into one vessel, is a metaphor for the union and adding the colored sand of 5 children into the mix not only makes for a special moment but a gorgeous keepsake.
